Argan Oil: From the Argan Trees of Southern Morocco to Your Beauty Routine

Known as “Morocco's liquid gold”, argan oil is extracted from the fruit of the argan tree, a species native to south-western Morocco and found nowhere else on earth. Recognised by UNESCO, the argan biosphere reserve is home to an ancestral craft passed down among women.

An artisanal, female-led craft

Argan oil production is traditionally carried out by women's cooperatives. The process is entirely manual: harvesting the fruit, drying it, cracking the nuts with a stone, then cold-pressing the kernels. It takes around 30 kilos of fruit and several hours of work to produce a single litre of oil.

The benefits of argan oil

For the face

Rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids, it nourishes, repairs and protects the skin against premature ageing. A few drops in the evening are enough, even for combination skin. That is the principle behind our argan and rose serum, which pairs argan with rose essential oil.

  • A single ingredient on the label: Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil.
  • Cold-pressed, which preserves the active compounds.
  • A golden colour and a light hazelnut scent (cosmetic oil is more subtle than culinary oil, which is made from roasted kernels).
  • A tinted glass bottle, protecting the oil from light.
